No. IWHC operates as a walk-in clinic, and appointments are first come, first served.

Clients are seen in the order they arrive. While we strive to see everyone as quickly as possible, wait times may vary depending on the number of clients and the urgency of medical needs. We recommend arriving early, especially during busy periods.

IWHC Toronto welcomes clients with or without a health card. If you have a valid health card from any Canadian province or eligible federal health coverage, please bring it with you.

If you do not have health coverage, many of our clinical services are provided at no cost through IWHC Toronto. Your immigration or insurance status should not prevent you from seeking care.

• Sexually transmitted infection (STI) testing, treatment and counselling

• HIV testing and counselling (nominal testing only)

• Syphilis testing, treatment and counselling

• Hepatitis bloodwork and hepatitis B vaccination

• Human papillomavirus (HPV) testing, treatment, vaccination and counselling

• Urinary tract infection (UTI) testing, treatment and counselling

• Testing, treatment and counselling for other infections

• Pap tests

• Birth control prescriptions, treatment and counselling

• Low-cost birth control options, including Plan B

• Intrauterine device (IUD) and intrauterine system (IUS) insertion, follow-up, removal, counselling and sales

Most of our services are provided at no cost to our clients.

• Medical appointments are free. For individuals without an OHIP card or federal health coverage, the cost of services is covered by IWHC.

• Birth control and antibiotics are available at a minimal cost.

• If an IWHC physician recommends diagnostic testing outside of our clinic or a referral to an external specialist, any associated fees are not covered by IWHC and may be the responsibility of the client.

Yes. As with any other doctors office, all information and services provided are fully confidential. We only share information upon your request and with your written consent.
