Human papillomavirus (HPV) testing, treatment, vaccination, and counselling -As of March 2025, Ontario has transitioned from the traditional Pap test to HPV testing as the primary method of cervical cancer screening. The test is performed the same way as a Pap test, but the sample is now first tested for high-risk HPV, providing earlier and more effective detection.
